June is for Poppies, Pies and Hosting
We had a raccoon (or two), tear off shingles from the chicken coop and dig under the pen and eat all our chicks. So Daniel went coon hunting a few nights. We ended up trapping two coons and now...we hope there are none.
I've been working on making our pool house into more of a "cabin in the woods by a lake" rather than a pool house. The most recent project was making leather loops to hang some fishing rods on the walls. We hosted a cookie themed dessert night out there, and there are more planned this summer.
8 eggs one day was a record for us. The hens must like the longer daylight hours and knowing there are less coons in the neighborhood.
