Socks for Mom
I bought the yarn for these back before we had told anyone, other than family, that we were expecting a baby. So this pair of socks have been in the making since before Natasha was born! I brought them to Panama, and finished them and sent them home with my sister Tiffany, for my Mom. Knitting socks was one thing I had always wanted to learn how to do, and I've done three pairs now.
The dear lady who taught me to knit socks, uses two circular needles, and it works quite nicely. Next, I'd like to do it on double points, like a pioneer. :) You know, the old fashioned way.
Knitting has been the perfect thing for me to do while down here without a sewing machine. Back in the States, I didn't knit much since I was sewing! But I do enjoy both, and I'm finally able to spend a little more time with yarn versus fabric.
They are beautiful. I love making socks as well. The double points are not that hard, once you get an inch on them. :) I am currently making 2 at a time toe up on one circular needle.
ReplyDeleteGood job! I love the colors. :)
ReplyDeleteNice socks! I'm too "chicken" to tackle making those yet. I love to knit and crochet and quilt. :)
