Turning Two in Panama
She calls herself, "Ta-Ta".
Her favorite food is fried plantains.
She gets really excited about cold water from the fridge.
She likes to watch Signing Time and Winnie the Pooh on YouTube.
She is putting two and three words "together" for sentences.
With pauses in between. Like,
"Gecko. Climb. Wall." (Then she proceeds to demonstrate.)

She doesn't take naps anymore.
She DOES sleep through the night.
She only nurses first thing in the morning and right before bedtime.
She can draw people, with a "bodee", hair, eyes, glasses, the works.
Her favorite color is "dow". (That is, red. And no, "dow" isn't Spanish. It's...Natashaism.)
Her favorite snack is raisins. Or a mashed banana with cocoa.
She is learning about Jesus...and was very concerned about his crown of thorns...
She couldn't wait till we got to go on the "big bus" to the "beach!"
When she wants held, she says, "Old Du." (Hold you."
She waves to complete strangers walking past and says, "Chau".
She has learned several new signs all on her own by watching Signing Time on YouTube, and uses them too! (Like, "pear", "time", and "stop".)
She made our duet a trio, and we love her to pieces.
So Happy Birthday Natasha, from Panama!

I remember the day! Twas doing my volunteer work at the nurses. Connie calmly told me I had a phone call from Janel. I rushed down the hall, with Connie on my heels, asking "is she having that baby?" Yep! We heard Janel say, "it's a girl." Then we heard the baby cry (which sounded like our lambs), and we all rejoiced! Happy Birthday, Natasha.

ReplyDeleteAww...that will be something really special to remind her of when she gets older - that she spent her second birthday in Panama. :) [Thanks for posting this...I tried so hard to remember exactly which day her birthday was, to no avail.]
ReplyDeleteSo excited to see you!
